AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
SANTA MONICA AMENDING SECTION 9ll0B3 OF CHAPTER 1.
ARTICLE IX OF THE SANTA MONICA MUNICIPAL CODE
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA MONICA DOES ORDAIN
AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. Section 9ll0B3 of Chapter 1, Article IX of
the Santa Monica Municipal Code is hereby amended to read as follows:
Section 9ll0B3. Lot Area Per Dwelling Unit.
There shall be a minimum of five hundred (500) square feet
of lot area for each dwelling unit. except. however, that
in no case shall more than one (1) dwelling unit be per-
mitted on a lot having an area less than four thousand
(4000) square feet, and except that for lots or building
sites having ten thousand (10,000) square feet or more of
area, the minimum herein stated may be waived subject to
the issuance of a conditional use permit in accordance with
the provisions of Section 9148 of this Chapter.
SECTION 2. The City Council finds and determines that the
public necessity, convenience, general welfare, and good zoning practice
require that the amendment in Section 1, above, be made.
SECTION 3. The Mayor shall sign and the City Clerk shall
attest to the passage of this ordinance. The City Clerk shall cause
the same to be published once in the official newspaper within fifteen
days after its adoption. This ordinance shall become effective after
thirty days from its adoption.
