AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF SANTA MONICA A~~DING
SECTION 3346 OF CHAPTER 3, ARTICLE
III OF THE SANTA 1v10NICA :MUNICIPAL
CODE PERTAINING TO THE LEGAL LOAD
LIYiIT ON THE CALIFORNIA INCLINE.
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA MmHCA DOES ORDAIN
AS FOLLOi{S:
SECTION 1. Section 3346 of the Santa Monica
Municipal Code hereby is anended to read as follows:
SECTION 3346. Prohibiting certain vehicles
from using California Avenue between Ocean Avenue and the
Palisades Beach Road.
No person shall operate upon the public high~ray
knm~ as California Avenue between Ocean Avenue and the
Palisades Beach Road, said portion of said California
Avenue being commonly referred to as the California
Incline, any vehicle which has a gross weight, including
any load thereon in excess of (a) 13 tons per vehicle;
(b) 21 tons per semi-trailer co~bination; or (c) 24 tons
per truck and full trailer.
SECTION 2. The ~~yor shall sign and the City
Clerk shall attest to the passage of this ordinance. The
City Clerk shall cause the sane to be published once in
the official newspaper within fifteen days after its adop-
tion. This ordinance sr~ll becose effective after thirty
days from its adoption.
