Summary As required by the Federal Transit Administration, Big Blue Bus (BBB) requests that the City Council adopt a resolution authorizing the City Manager to file grant applications, execute grant agreements, and execute certifications and assurances. An individual resolution is required for BBB to receive federal assistance. Federal funds are typically used for the purchase of replacement buses. Discussion The federal grant application process requires the City Council to adopt a resolution which authorizes the City Manager to file the application and negotiate and execute all documents associated with federal grant applications and including but not limited to annual certifications and assurances required by the FTA. Approval of this resolution would satisfy this federal requirement. Adopting the resolution now allows BBB to expedite its annual grant applications and participate in unanticipated one -time grant opportunities in a timely manner.
