A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF SANTA MONICA AUTHORIZING THE CITY
MANAGER TO ACCEPT GRANTS AND TO
EXECUTE AGREEMENTS WITH THE CALIFORNIA
GREEN BUSINESS NETWORK UNDER THE
CALIFORNIA GREEN BUSINESS PROGRAM
Santa Monica, CA
WHEREAS, the State of California has created a California Green Business
Program pursuant to California Health and Safety Code Section 25244.17.2 to further
pollution prevention programs, including support to local agencies for the certification of
local businesses that adopt environmentally preferable business practices; and
WHEREAS, the California Environmental Protection Agency (CaIEPA), through
the California Air Resources Board, has entered into Agreement Number 17EPA014 with
California Green Business Network (CAGBN), a nonprofit organization, to award funds to
local agencies and others in furtherance of the mission of the California Green Business
Program; and
WHEREAS, CAGBN has awarded a grant in the amount of $20,000 to the City of
Santa Monica under the California Green Business Program for the period between
March 1, 2018 to March 1, 2019.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA MONICA
DOES RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:

SECTION 1. The City Manager, or his designee, is authorized to accept the grant
award in the amount of $20,000 from CAGBN under the California Green Business
Program (CAGBN Grant), to negotiate and execute all agreements and amendments
related to the CAGBN Grant, and to approve matching funds necessary as part of the
CAGBN Grant.
SECTION 2. The City Manager, or his designee, is also authorized to apply for
and accept future grant applications under the California Green Business Program up
through FY2022, subject to annual budgetary appropriations for any matching funds.
SECTION 3. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this Resolution, and
thenceforth and thereafter the same shall be in full force and effect.
