R11096City Council Meeting: January 9, 2018 Santa Monica, California RESOLUTION NUMBER I 10-1 & (CCS) (City Council Series) A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA MONICA AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO APPLY FOR FUNDING UNDER THE CALIFORNIA STATE OF GOOD REPAIR PROGRAM AND TO NEGOTIATE AND TO ENTER INTO AGREEMENTS AND DOCUMENTS FOR FUNDS, AND TO ISSUE CERTIFICATIONS AND ASSURANCES RELATED THERETO WHEREAS, the Road Repair and Accountability Act of 2017, Senate Bill (SB) 1 (Chapter 5, Statues of 2017), signed by the California Governor Brown on April 28, 2017, includes a program referred to as the State of Good Repair program to provide additional revenues for transit infrastructure repair and service improvements; and WHEREAS, the California Department of Transportation administers the State of Good Repair program pursuant to guidelines for distribution of program funds to eligible project sponsors; and WHEREAS, the City of Santa Monica is an eligible project sponsor and seeks to receive funds under the State of Good Repair Program for certain capital projects of the Big Blue Bus, including, but not limited to, bus replacement and preventative maintenance. 0 NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA MONICA DOES RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS: SECTION -1. The City agrees to comply with all conditions, requirements and regulations set forth in the Certification and Assurances document and applicable statutes, regulations and guidelines for the State of Good Repair funded transit projects. SECTION 2. The City Council of the City of Santa Monica authorizes the City Manager to submit proposals for allocation of funds under the California State of Good Repair program. SECTION 3. The City Manager is authorized to execute all required documents for the State of Good Repair program and any amendments thereto with the California Department of Transportation. SECTION 4. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of the Resolution, and thenceforth and thereafter the same shall be in full force and effect.
