Recommended Action
Staff recommends that City Council adopt the attached Ordinance.
Executive Summary
At its meeting of November 10, 2015, the City Council introduced for first reading:
1) an ordinance amending Chapters 6.48, 6.49 and 6.50 of the Santa Monica
Municipal Code updating regulations of vehicles for hire, taxicabs, and pedicabs;
2) an ordinance amending and extending a taxicab franchise granted to All Yellow
Taxi, Inc., doing business as Metro Cab;
3) an ordinance amending and extending the taxicab franchise granted to Bell Cab
Company, Inc.;
4) an ordinance amending and extending a taxicab franchise granted to
Independent Taxicab Owners Association;
5) an ordinance amending and extending a taxicab franchise granted to TMAT
Corporation doing business as Taxi! Taxi!;
6) an ordinance amending and extending a taxicab franchise granted to L. A.
Cooperative, Inc., doing business as Yellow Cab Company.
The ordinance is now presented to City Council for adoption.
