SUBJECT: Recommendation to award bid for radio equipment.

Introduction
This report concerns award of bid for radio equipment in the total
amount of $18,421.12, including tax. Funds for this purchase are
budgeted in 1979 -80 fiscal year accounts 01- 300 - 311 - 000 -950 and
46 -000- 300 -301 -950, General Services.
Background
In response to published Notice Inviting Bids to furnish and
deliver items of radio equipment in accordance with City specifications,
one bid was received and publicly opened and read October 9, 1979.
Proposal packages were mailed to six (6) prospective suppliers, and
notices were advertised in accordance with City Charter and Municipal
Code provisions.
Recommendation
It is recommended that the award be made to RCA Mobile Communications
Systems, in the total amount of $18,421.12, including tax.
