SUBJECT: Recommendation to award bid for Three -Wheel Motor Scooters
BID NO: 1489
Introduction
This report concerns award of bid for five (5) three -wheel police
type motor scooters and two (2) three -wheel pick -up motor scooters
in the total amount of $31,231.84 including applicable sales tax.
Funds for the purchase will be allocated as follows:
$23,436.60 to be charged to account #46 -300 -301- 000 -950
POLICE CAPTIAL OUTLAY
$7,795.60 to be charged to account #15- 400- 517' -000 =950
MECHANICAL MAINTENANCE CAPTIAL OUTLAY
Background
In response to published "Notice Inviting Bids" to furnish and
deliver five (5) three -wheel motor scooters and two (2) three - wheel
motor scooters equipped with cargo bodies in accordance with City
specifications, bids were received and publicly opened and read
December 13, 1979. Proposal forms were mailed to six (6) prospective
vendors and notices were advertised in accordance with City Charter
and Municipal Code provisions. One (1) bid was submitted that was
in accordance with specifications from the firm, Cushman Motor- Sales,
Inc.
Recommendation
It is recommended that the award be made to Cushman Motor - Sales, Inc.,
as the single bidder, in the amount of $31,231.84, including sales tax.
