SUBJECT: Recommendation to award bid for mail room equipment.
Bid No. 1483
Introduction
This report concerns award of bid for mail room equipment consisting
of a mailing machine, a mail scale, a letter opener, and 40 mail
sorting bins in the total amount of $8,450.32, including applicable
tax and trade -in allowance of $235.00. These items will replace
existing equipment currently in the mail room. Funds for this
purchase are budgeted in 1979 -80 fiscal year account 46- 100 -211- 000 -950,
City Clerk's Office.
Background
In response to published Notice Inviting Bids to furnish and
deliver mail room equipment in accordance with City specifications,
one bid was received and publicly opened and read September 25,
1979. Proposal packages were mailed to ten (10) prospective
suppliers and notices were advertised in accordance with City Charter
and Municipal Code provisions.
Recommendation
It is recommended that the award be made to Pitney Bowes Company,
who submitted the following bid:
