SUBJECT: Recommendation to award bid for turf equipment.
Bid No. 1476
Introduction
This report concerns award of bid in the total amount of $12,608.70,
including tax, for a self - propelled turf sweeper and a pull- behind turf
sweeper. Funds in the amount of $14,350 for two turf sweepers are
available in account number 46- 400 -511- 000 -950, Park Department Capital
Equipment.
Background
In response to published Notice Inviting Bids to furnish and deliver
two (2) turf sweepers, bids were received and publicly opened and read
August 28, 1979. Proposal packages were mailed to nineteen (19)
prospective suppliers and notices were advertised in accordance with
City Charter and Municipal Code provisions. Three (3) responses were
received, with only two (2) meeting specifications as outlined in the
bid instrument. The bid of Toro - Pacific was not considered due to lack
of meeting specifications.
Recommendation
It is recommended that the award for the self - propelled turf sweeper
be made to H. V. Carter Company in the total amount of $4,764.70,
including tax; and the award for the pull- behind turf sweeper be made
to B. Hayman Company in the total amount of $7,844.00, including tax.
