A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF SANTA MONICA DECLARING CITY -OWNED PROPERTY AT 2018
19th STREET AS SURPLUS AND TO COMMENCE INVITING PROPOSALS FOR THE
SALE OF REAL PROPERTY
WHEREAS, the property located at 2018 19TH Street ( "Property') was conveyed
to the City of Santa Monica in 2009 by Habitat for Humanity; and
WHEREAS, the Property is not needed for City public purpose; and
WHEREAS, Santa Monica Municipal Code (SMMC) Section 2.24.110 establishes
requirements for sale of City -owned real property, including public notices, presentation
of the proposals to City Council, and City Council authority to accept proposals or to
reject all proposals; and
WHEREAS, the State of California Government Code Sections 54220 to 54232
establish requirements for the disposition of surplus land owned by local agencies,
including but not limited to a local agency's responsibility to make written offers to sell
the property to various state, county and local entities and a local agency's right to sell
the property at fair market value.

NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA MONICA
DOES RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. The City -owned property located at 2018 19TH Street in Santa
Monica is no longer needed for any City public purpose and is therefore considered
surplus property.
SECTION 2. The City is authorized to commence inviting proposals for the sale
of the Property in accordance with SMMC Section 2.24.110 and California Government
Code Section 54222.
SECTION 3. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this Resolution, and
thenceforth and thereafter the same shall be in full force and effect.
