This letter is my resignation from the position I currently hold on the Architectural Review Board. My
practice will be undertaking some work that is related to the development agreement for the Miramar
Hotel and the City Attorney has made the determination that the work could be construed as a conflict of
interest and has advised that I resign. I believe l can attend the upcoming March 16 meeting, but it will be
my final meeting.
I have enjoyed the professional challenge presented in working on the Board and appreciate the
opportunity to have contributed the evolution of the shape of the City. While I will not be able to continue
in a formal capacity, I hope we will be able to maintain an informal dialogue regarding Santa Monica
design and architecture in the future.
