BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF SAID MUNICIPALITIES TO MAKE ALL NECESSARY RULES

This Indenture, made the 6th day of March, 1899,
between A. Y. GUILII GER and Y. H. KIMBALL trustees of- an
express trust of Santa Monica Los Angeles County State of
California the parties of the first part and the town of
Santa Monica a municipal corporation of the sixth class
duly organized and existing under and by virtue of the Gen-
eral Laws of the State of California and located within the
County of Los Angeles, State of California, the party of
the second part witnesseth that whereas JOHN P. JOTTES and
GEORGINA S. JONES, husband anu by -I e f --.nd J. J. CARRILLO did
on the 10th day of December A.D.1898 convey to the parties
of the first part as such trustees the real property herein-
after described which deed was recorded in the Recorders
Office of said Los Angeles County on the 11th day of January
1898 in Book 1214 of deeds at page 158 records of said Los
Angeles County and which deed is hereby refered to and made
a part of this conveyance and whereas by said deed it was
among other things provided that when the town of Santa
Monica is authorized by law to receive and maintain a public
cemetery the said trustees parties of the first part herein
should convey to the said town of Santa Monica the lands
described in said deed and hereafter described and whereas
by an act of the legislature entitled "An Act authorizing
municipalities of less than the first class to obtain by
purchase donation or devise lands for Cemetery purposes and
authorizing the board of trustees of said municipalities
to make all necessary rules and regulations for the government

first part do grant to the said Party of the second part
subject only to said trusts and subject to any deed hereto-
fore executed by said first parties under said trust all
that certain real PrOPertY located situated and being in
the town of Santa Monica, County of Los Angeles,State of
California bounded and described as follows: towit:
Commencing at a point in the southeasterly line of
fourteenth-street bearing N. 440451 W and distant 165 feet
from the intersection of the Southerly line of the Rancho
San Vicenta y Santa Monica with the southeasterly line of
fourteenth Street thence running from said point of begin-
ning, bearing North 440451 W. and distant 552 feet along
the southeasterly line of fourteenth street to a 311x3l' stake
thence N. 45*15t E. and distant 490 feet to a post thence
S. 44 °45' E and distant 552 feet to a post. Thence S.450151
W and distant 490 feet to the place of beginning containing
6 21/100 acres.And being the same tract of land described in
the aforementioned deed and being shown as "Woodlawn Cemetry".
