SUBJECT: Recommendation to award bid for repainting Pier Pipe
Railings
BID NO. 1520
Introduction
This report concerns award of bid in the amount of $3,572.00
including tax, for repainting pier pipe railings. This purchase
will be charged to account number 15410 -000, Pier Work Order.
Background
This work is to be done on the Santa Monica Pier railings. In
response to published Notice Inviting Bids to furnish all labor,
materials, tools, and equipment to paint the pier pipe railings
per specifications, bids were received and publicly opened and read
May 6, 1980.. Proposals were mailed to sixty -eight (68) painters
and notices were published in accordance with City Charter and
Municipal Code provisions. Six (6) bids were received as listed on
the attached Summary of Bids. The price spread appears to be due
to profit margin enjoyed by the bidding company.
Recommendation
It is recommended the award be made to the low bidder Randall
McAnany Company in the amount of $3,572.00 including applicable
tax.
