SR-05-27-1980-6H4SAY 7 1980 Santa Monica, California May 12, 1980 TO: Mayor and City Council FROM: City Staff SUBJECT: Recommendation to award bid for Two (2) Parlor Coaches BID NO. 1503 Introduction This report concerns award of bid for two (2) parlor coaches in the total amount of $255,517.20 including tax. Funds are available in account number 97- 600 -651- 000 -221. These funds are in the City of Santa Monica Budget. The coaches are not funded by the Federal Government. Background In response to published Notice Inviting Bids to furnish and deliver two (2) parlor coaches in accordance with specification, bids were received and publicly opened and read April 15, 1980. Proposal packages were mailed to all eight (8) potential suppliers and notices were advertised in accordance with City Charter and Municipal Code provisions. One (1) bid was received as listed on the attached Summary of Bids. These buses will be used for charter service. Recommendation It is recommended the award be made to Motor Coach Industries, Inc., in the total amount of $255,517.20 including tax. Prepared By: R.N.
