SUBJECT: Recommendation to award bid for Data Entry System
BID NO. 1519
Introduction
This report concerns award of bid in the amount of $38,478.00
including tax, for a Data Entry System. This system, previously
approved by the Council,.will replace the manual card entry and
enter data into the system automatically. This purchase will be
charged to account number 01- 100 - 223 - 000 -950, Data Processing
Department.
Background
This data processing system will be installed at the Data Process-
ing Department, City Hall to replace out dated card entry systems.
In response to published Notice Inviting Bids to furnish, deliver
and install the Data Entry System per specifications, bids were
received and publicly opened and read May 6, 1980. Proposals were
mailed to four (4) computer corporations and notices were published
in accordance with City Charter and Municipal Code provisions.
Four (4) bids were received and listed on the attached Summary
of Bids.
Recommendation
It is recommended the award be made to the Nixdorf Computer Corp.,
in the amount of $38,478.00 including applicable tax as the lowest
and best bidder to meet specifications.
