This report concerns award of bid for Paint Products in the approximate yearly
amount of $10,000.00, including tax. Funds for this purchase are available in the
Warehouse Inventory Account.
Backround
In response to published Notice Inviting Bids to furnish and deliver paint products
in accordance with City specifications, for yearly contract, four (4) bids were
received and publicly opened and read June 19, 1980. Proposal packages were mailed
to fifty -two (52) prospective suppliers and notices were advertised in accordance
with City Charter and Municipal Code provisions. Note the attached Summary of Bids.
Recommendation
It is recommended the award be made to Dunn - Edwards on item's 1, 2, 3, 5, 6, 11,
12a, 13, and 14, to Cox Paint's for item's 4, 7, 8, 9, and 10, and to Sinclair
Paint's for item 12b as the lowest and best bidders per item.
