Introduction
OLT 2 S 1960
This report requests Council approval of the mural artist and the proposed mural
for Joslyn Park.
Background
Council approved $1000 in the 1980 -81 budget for the painting of a mural at
Joslyn Park.
Ocean Park Community Organization formed a mural committee who sought and selected
a muralist for the project. The proposed mural has been reviewed by staff and
has been reviewed by the Recreation and Parks Commission.
The layout of the proposed mural will be at the City Council meeting for Council
review.
Alternatives
1. Council may accept the mural and the muralist Arthur Mortimer, (see attached
resume) as presented and authorize the City Manager to enter into a contract
with the artist to perform the work.
2. Council may reject the mural and muralist and instruct staff to seek other
proposals.
Recommendation
Staff recommends alternative no. 1, approving the mural and mural artist, and
authorizing the City Manager to enter into a contract with the artist to perform
the work. OC'1 ? 8 WO
