SUBJECT: Recommendation to award bid for Street Lights
(Bid No. 1527)
INTRODUCTION
This report concerns award of bid in the amount of $29,947.54 including tax,
for Street Lights. This purchase will be charged to account number 01- 500 -451-
000 -501, PFM Electric Revolving Account.
BACKGROUND
These parts are used in the repair of damaged lights in the City. These lamps
are Econolite Control products which are manufactured by Econolite then distributed
to their lamp representatives. In response to published Notice Inviting Bids to
furnish and deliver the street light parts per specifications, bids were received
and publicly opened and read June 10, 1980. Proposals were mailed to fourteen (14)
lamp distributors and notices were published in accordance with City Charter and
Municipal Code provisions. One (1) bid was received as listed on the attached
Summary of Bids. When the factory bids on these items, the representatives can not
match the factory prices,.thus the non - response from the factory representatives.
RECOMMENDATION
It is recommended the award be made to the only bidder, Econolite Control Products
Inc., in the amount of $29,947.54 including applicable tax.
