SUBJECT: Recommendation to award bid for Automotive Equipment
BID NO. 1524 -B
INTRODUCTION
This report concerns award of bid for Automotive Equipment consisting of one
(1) 6050 GVW Pick -up, one (1) 6700 Pick -up and one (1) 10,000 GVW Truck with
stake body and lift gate in the total amount of $24,332.05 including applicable
tax. This purchase is to be charged to various 1979 -80 fiscal year accounts
of the Mechanical Maintenance Department.
BACKGROUND
In response to published Notice Inviting Bids to furnish and deliver Automotive
Equipment in accordance with City specifications, bids were received and publicly
opened and read June 3, 1980. Proposal packages were mailed to seventy -two (72)
suppliers and notices were advertised in accordance with City Charter and Municipal
Code provisions. Six (6) bids were received, four (4) of which were No Bids as
listed on the attached Summary of Bids.
RECOMM7ENDATION
It is recommended the award be made to Santa Monica Ford, in the amount of
$24,332.05, as the the lowest and best bidder.
