SUBJECT: Recommendation to award bid for Automotive Equipment
Bid No. 1506
INTRODUCTION
This report concerns the award of bid for Automotive Equipment consisting
of one (1) Tandem Drive Truck. Tilt Cab and Chassis; one (1) 40,000
GVW 6 Wheel Truck; one (1) Utility Grader; one (1) Articulated Loader
(solid tire); one (1) Articulated Loader (pneumatic tire); one (1)
43,000 GVW Tandem Drive Truck with Chassis in the total amount of
$258,027.49 including applicable taxes. This purchase is to be
charged to various 1979 -80 fiscal year accounts of the Mechanical
Maintenance Department.
BACKGROUND
In response to published Notice Inviting Bids to furnish and deliver
Automotive Equipment in accordance with City specifications, bids
were received and opened and read April 17, 1980. Proposal packages
were mailed to one hundred sixty -six (166) prospective suppliers and
notices were advertised in accordance with City Charter and Municipal
Code provisions. Nine (9) bids were received, as listed on the
attached Summary of Bids.
RECOMMENDATION
It is recommended that the City Council find the award be made to the
lowest and best bidder for each item, as follows:
