SR-06-24-1980-6E10Santa Monica, California, June 19, 1980 TO: Mayor and City Council FROM: City Staff SUBJECT: Supplemental Report - Modernization of Five Traffic Signals Award of Contract Introduction This report recommends the City Council award a contract for modernization and installation of five traffic signals to C.T. & F., Inc., the lowest re- sponsible bidder, in the amount of $123,330. Background The location of the traffic signal modernizations are: Neilson Way at Hollister and Marine; Pico and Main; Broadway and 26th Street; Main and Marine; and the removal of the signals at Main and Pier. The project was approved and funds in the amount of $130,000 are available in the 1979 -80 budget in Account Number 01- 500 -413- 000 -920. Bids for the traffic signal modernization were opened in the City Hall Trailer after 3:00 p.m., Wednesday, June 18, 1980. Plans and specifications were issued to eleven contractors. Davis N Al"enda Item 6 -E10: Presented for consideration was a contract for award to C.T. g F, 'Inc. for modernization and installation of five traffic signals at cost of $123,330 and a request for appropriation of $42,000 for contingencies. The staff report was presented. Discussion was held. Councilmember Reed moved to approve the staff recommendation, i.e., awarding Contract No. 3513(CCS) to C.'f, $ F., Inc., in the amount of $12.1,330 and approving an appropriation of $4'2,000 for contingencies for modernization and installation of five traffic signals located at Neilson Way at Hollister and Marine, Pico and Main, Broadway and 26th - Street, Main and Marine,and removal of the signals at Main and Pier.
