SUBJECT: Recommendation to award bid for Lighting Equipment
BID NO. 1524 -A
INTRODUCTION
This report concerns award of bid in the amount of $27,886.37 including tax,
for Lighting Equipment. This purchase will be charged to account number
01- 500 - 451 - 000 -501, Public Facilities Maintenance Electric.
BACKGROUND
This lighting equipment will be stored at City yards for use in various parts
of the City. In response to published Notice Inviting Bids to furnish and deliver
street light equipment per specifications, bids were received and publicly opened
and read May 12, 1980. Proposals were mailed to twelve (12) lighting suppliers
and notices were published in accordance with City Charter and Municipal Code
provisions. One (1) bid was received as listed on the attached Summary of Bids.
Only General Electric and Graybar Electric can deliver this item as it is a
proprietary item.
RECOMMENDATION
It is recommended the award be made to Graybar Electric Company as the only
bidder, in the amount of $27,886.37 including applicable tax.
