SCAG Bikeway Article 3 (SB -821) Funds in the amount of $50,000 are currently
available under Account No. 97- 700 - 906 - 000 -506 for this project. On May 22, 1979,
the City Council concurred as to the basic design of the bikepath changes
(Item 11 -D). These changes involve resurfacing and restriping a portion of the
beach parking lots for bicyclists and restriping the existing path for use by
pedestrians which include joggers, skate boarders, and roller skaters. The
State Parks and Recreation Department has reviewed the construction plans and
agrees the proposal will ease the congested condition existing along the bike
path. Approval of this project is expected shortly from the California Coastal
Commission.
