SUBJECT: Recommendation to award bid for Wheel - Mounted Air
Compressor (2)
Introduction
This report concerns award of bid for Wheel - Mounted Air
Compressors of $20,093.36 including applicable.sales tax. Funds
for this purchase have been budgeted in account number 39- 500 -671-
000 -950.
Background
These two (2) Wheel- mounted compressors are for use by the Water
Department for excavating, breaking concrete "compacting. In
response to published Notice Inviting Bids to furnish and
deliver (2) Wheel- Mounted Air Compressors in accordance with
City specifications, bids were received and publicly opened and
read September 16, 1980 3:00 P.M. Proposal forms were mailed to
seven (7) prospective suppliers and notices were advertised in
accordance with City Charter and Municipal Code provisions. Three
(3) proposals were received. One offered an alternate bid in addi-
tion to a bid to our specification.
Recommendation
It is recommended that the award be made to Ingersoll Rand Eqpt.
Company in the total amount of $20,093.36 including tax, as the
lowest and best bidder.
