SUBJECT: Recommendation to award bid for 29 Yard Side Loader
Refuse 'Body Bid No. 1544
Introduction
This report concerns award of bid for SideLoader Refuse Body in
the total amount of $18,748.00 including applicable sales tax.
Funds for this purchase have been budgeted in account number
27- 500 -441- 000 -950.
Background
In response to published Notice Inviting Bids to furnish and
deliver 29 Yard Side Loader Refuse Body installed on City Truck
in accordance with City specifications bids were received and
publicly opened and read September 18, 1980 3:00 P,M. Proposal
forms were mailed to Ten (10) prospective Suppliers and notices
were advertised in accordance with City Charter and Municipal
Code provisions. Three (3) proposals were received as shown
on the attached bid recap.
This proposed contract includes all labor and material to
a) Remove refuse body from City owned 1975 White Truck.
b) Build new 29 Yard Side Loader Refuse Body and install
on the above truck.
Recommendation
It is recommended that the award be made to Maxon, Industries
in the total amount of $18,748.22, including tax, as the
lowest and best bidd
