SUBJECT: Recommendation to award bid for Automotive Equipment
Bid No. 1548
Introduction
This report concerns award of bid for Automotive Equipment
in the total amount of $105,595.07 including applicable sales
tax. Funds for this purchase have been budgeted in account number
01- 500 - 421 - 000 -950.
Background
These four (4) Trucks are for use in the Street Department.
The large dump truck with the front loader will be used for
cleaning up of street sweeping pile and other debris.
The two (2) 19,700 GVW Cab and Chassis will be fitted with
existing bodies for handling broken concrete.
The one (1) 16,500 GVW Cab and Chassis will be used for handling
sand and gravel.
In response to published Notice Inviting Bids to furnish and
deliver the Automotive Equipment shown below in accordance with
City specifications, bids were received and publicly opened
and read September 11, 1980 3:00 P.M. Proposal forms were mailed
to eleven (11) prospective suppliers and notices were
advertised in accordance with City Charter and Municipal Code
provisions. Six (6) proposals were received and are shown on
the attached recap of bids. Below are the items included in this
bid:

Item #2 2 -Cab & Chassis 19,700 GVW
Item #3 1 -Cab & Chassis 16,500 GVW
