SUBJECT: Lincoln Park Tennis Court and Security Lighting__
Award of Contract
Introduction
This report recommends the City Council rescind its award of a $72,000 contract
to Raymor Electric Co. for installation of tennis court lighting at Lincoln
Park, and award the contract to Pacific Recreational Lighting, the second low
bidder, in the amount of $73,850.
Background
This project was approved in the 1979 -80 park division budget in the amount of
$75,000. The Council awarded the contract for subject work to Raymor Electric
on May 13, 1980. Since that time, Raymor has failed to sign a contract.
Consistent with the terms of standard city contracts, and with the City Attorney's
approval, Raymor's bid bond has now been forfeited.
Recommendation
It is recommended that Council rescind award of contract to Raymor Electric,
and award a contract to the second lowest bidder, Pacific Recreational Lighting,
in the amount of $73,850.
