A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF SANTA MONICA ACCEPTING THE
TENTATIVE AGREEMENTS AND AUTHORIZING. THE CITY MANAGER
TO EXECUTE MEMORANDA OF UNDERSTANDING WITH
THE MUNICIPAL EMPLOYEES ASSOCIATION; INTERNATIONAL BROTHERHOOD
OF TEAMSTERS, LOCAL 911; AND THE SANTA MONICA
FIRE EXECUTIVE MANAGEMENT ASSOCIATION
WHEREAS, the City administration and representatives of the Municipal
Employees Association; International Brotherhood of Teamsters, Local 911; and the
Santa Monica Fire Executive Management Association, have met and conferred under
the terms of Ordinance No. 801 (CCS) and have reached agreement on wages,
hours, and other terms and conditions of employment; and
WHEREAS, in accordance with Government Code Section 3505. 1, on November
25, 2014, the tentative agreements reached between the City administration and
representatives of the Municipal Employees Association; International Brotherhood of
Teamsters, Local 911; and the Santa Monica Fire Executive Management Association,
were presented to the City Council of the City of Santa Monica for consideration; and
WHEREAS, Section 2.06 of Ordinance No. 801 (CCS) of the City of Santa
Monica requires preparation of a written Memorandum of Understanding between the
City administration and employee organization if an agreement can be reached; and
WHEREAS, Section 2.06 of Ordinance No. 801 (CCS) further provides that any
such Memorandum of Understanding shall not be binding unless and until presented to
the governing body for determination; and
WHEREAS, the purpose of the Memorandum of Understanding is to promote
and provide harmonious relations, cooperation, and understanding between the City
and the Municipal Employees Association, International Brotherhood of Teamsters,
Local 911; and the Santa Monica Fire Executive Management Association;
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA MONICA
DOES RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. The City Council of the City of Santa Monica hereby accepts the
tentative agreements that have been reached between the City administration and
representatives of the Municipal Employees Association; International Brotherhood of
Teamsters, Local 911; and the Santa Monica Fire Executive Management Association,
respectively.
SECTION 2. The City Council of the City of Santa Monica hereby approves and
authorizes the City Manager to execute an individual Memorandum of Understanding
with the Municipal Employees Association (FY2014- 2016); International Brotherhood of

Teamsters, Local 911 (FY2014- 2015); and the Santa Monica Fire Executive
Management Association (FY2014- 2017).
SECTION 3. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this Resolution, and
thenceforth and thereafter the same shall be in full force and effect.
