A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF SANTA MONICA TO AUTHORIZE THE CITY MANAGER TO FILE
THE FY 20f5- 2017 SHORT RANGE TRANSIT PLAN, TO SUBMIT GRANT
APPLICATIONS AND TO NEGOTIATE AND EXECUTE GRANT AGREEMENTS IN
FURTHERANCE OF THE SHORT RANGE TRANSIT PLAN.
WHEREAS, Chapter 2.5 (commencing with Section 65080) of Division 1 of
Title 7 of the California Government Code authorizes the City Council to file a Short
Range Transit Plan; and
WHEREAS, the City Council is authorized to submit grant applications and
execute grant agreements;
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA MONICA
DOES RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. The City Manager is authorized to file the FY 2015 -2017 Short
Range Transit Plan with the Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority.
SECTION 2. The City Manager is authorized to file grant applications and to
negotiate and execute grant agreements to accept federal; state, regional and local
transit assistance consistent with the FY 2015 -2017 Short Range Transit Plan,
including, but not limited to, the Federal Transit Administration, Los Angeles County
Metropolitan Transportation Authority, South Coast Air Quality Management District,
State Department of Homeland Security, and the California Department of
Transportation.
SECTION 3. The City Manager is also authorized to negotiate and execute grant
agreements with subgrantees for the pass- through of grant funds consistent with the
terms of the applicable grant and the FY 2015 -2017 Short Range Transit Plan.
SECTION 4. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this Resolution, and
thenceforth and thereafter the same shall be in full force and effect.
