of the Political Code of the State of California, approved .March 12th, 1872, and
put into effect by an act of the legislature of the State of California, entitled "An
Act to put into immediate effect certain parts of the Political and Penal Codes,"
approved March 16th, 1872, and all acts amendatory thereof or 3upplemen-
iary thereto, and in and by virtue of and in conformity with ordinance No. 15,
of the Town, of Santa Monica, entitled ".4n Ordinance of the Town of Santa Mon-
ica relatinff to the assessment and collection of Taxes," adopted by the Board of
Trustees of said Town, February 21st, 1887, and approved by the President of
said Board of Trustees, did, on the third Monday of November, 1387, deliver to
the Board of Trustees of said town, by filing; with the clerk thereof, a complete de-
linquent, , list of all persons and property then, owing taxes in said town to the
Town of Santa, Monica, which, said delinquent list did include the property first
