A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF SANTA MONICA TO DISCONTINUE PAYING AND REPORTING
THE VALUE OF EMPLOYER PAID MEMBER CONTRIBUTIONS FOR SANTA
MONICA FIREFIGHTERS LOCAL 1109 IAFF
WHEREAS, the governing body of the City of Santa Monica has the authority to
implement Government Code Section 20691; and
WHEREAS, the governing body of the City of Santa Monica has had a written
labor policy or agreement which specifically provides for the normal member
contributions to be paid by the employer, and reported as additional compensation; and
WHEREAS, the governing body of the City of Santa Monica has amended its
written labor policy or agreement to specifically provide for the normal member
contributions to be paid by the employee; and
WHEREAS, one of the steps in the procedures to implement or modify the
provisions of Government Code Section 20691 is the adoption by the governing body of
the City of Santa Monica of a resolution regarding said Employer Paid Member
Contributions (EPMC); and
WHEREAS, the governing body of the City of Santa Monica has identified the
following conditions for the purpose of its election,. after meeting and conferring with

representatives of Santa Monica Firefighters Local 1109 IAFF, to discontinue paying
and reporting EPMC:
This benefit shall only apply to fire safety employees occupying the
classifications represented by the Santa Monica Firefighters Local 1109
IAFF.
- The benefits provided under Government Code Section 20691 shall be
discontinued and the City of Santa Monica shall pay 0% (zero percent) of
the normal member contributions as EPMC pursuant to the terms of the
written labor agreement between the City of Santa Monica and the Santa
Monica Firefighters Local 1109 IAFF.
The effective date of this Resolution shall be July 1, 2014.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA MONICA
DOES RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. The City of Santa Monica hereby elects to discontinue paying and
reporting the value of Employer Paid Member Contributions for fire safety employees
occupying classifications represented by Santa Monica Firefighters Local 1109 IAFF, as
set forth above.
SECTION 2.The City Clerk shall certify to the, adoption of this Resolution, and
thenceforth and thereafter the same shall be in full force and effect.
