SUBJECT: Recommendation to award bid for water service fittings.

Introduction
This report concerns award of bid for water service fittings in the
total amount of $6,711.81, including sales tax. Funds are available
in account number 38- 955 -200- 000 -000, Water Department Revolving
Inventory. These supplies are charged to individual work order
accounts as issued from warehouse stocks.
Background
In response to published Notice Inviting Bids to furnish and deliver
certain fittings in accordance with City Specifications, one (1) bid
was received and publicly opened and read on January 16, 1979.
Proposal packages were mailed to twelve (12) potential suppliers and
notices were advertised in accordance with City Charter and Municipal
Code provisions. These fittings are those solicited in recent previous
formal solicitations for which no bids were received or for which no
purchase recommendation was made
