SUBJECT: Recommendation to award bid for tractor. Bid No. 1415.
Introduction
This report concerns award of bid, in the amount of $36,941.00
including sales tax, for one (1) diesel - powered tractor with front
loader and backhoe attachments. This purchase will be a part of the
$86,600.00 budgeted in account 39- 500 -672- 000 -951, Water Department
General Automotive Equipment.
Background
In response to Published Notice Inviting Bids to furnish and deliver
this two -wheel drive tractor in accordance with City specifications,
one (1) bid was received and publicly opened and read in the office of
the City Manager November 30, 1978. Proposal forms were mailed to
eighteen (18) tractor dealers and Notices were advertised in accordance
with City Charter and Municipal Code provisions.
Jumbo Equipment Company, Inc., submitted a bid of $36,941.00 ($34,850.00
plus $2,091.00 tax) for a John Deere model JD 410 tractor. Terms are
net 30 days.
Recommendation
It is recommended that the award be made to Jumbo Equipment Company, Inc.,
in the total amount of $36,941.00.
