This report concerns award of bid to furnish and install Replacement
waterwell pumping equipment at the median strip of Olympic Boulevard
and Centinela Boulevard in the total amount of $9,964,00 including
applicable tax. Funds are available in account 38- 500 - 671 - 000 -865,
Repairs to Pumping Equipment, which totals $37,500.00.
Background
In repsonse to published Notice Inviting Bids to furnish and install
a pump and well casing in accordance with specifications, one (1)
bid was received and publicly opened and read in the office of the
City Manager September 26, 1978. Proposal packages were mailed to
fifteen (15) potential bidders and notices were advertised in
accordance with City charter and municipal code provisions.
McCalla Brothers submitted a bid of $9,400.00 plus $564,00 Tax for
a total of $9,964.00. Terms are net 10 days and completion is
scheduled for 45 days.
Recommendation
It is recommeded that the award be made to McCalla Brothers, the
sole bidder, in the amount of $9,964.00 including tax.
