Introduction
This report concerns award of bids for water meter box and vault
components in the total amount of $7,350.57 including applicable tax.
This purchase will be charged initially to account number 99- 955 -200-
000 -000, Water Department Inventory. This inventory account will be
credited as material is issued for specific job orders.
Background
In response to published Notice Inviting Bids to furnish meter box
and vault components in accordance with city specifications, bids
were received and publicly opened and read in the office of the City
Manager September 28, 1978. Proposal forms were mailed to sixteen
(16) potential suppliers and notices were advertised in accordance
with city charter and municipal code provisions. Two (2) bids were
received as listed on the attached Summary.
Recommendation
It is recommended that the bids be awarded to the lowest bidder as
