SUBJECT: Douglas Park Bowling Green Renovation - Award of Contract
Introduction
This report recommends that the City Council award a contract for renovation
of the Douglas Park Bowling Green.
Background
The existing bowling green is over 25 years old. Lawn disease and poor drainage
problems have greatly decreased the quality of play.
The renovation consists of excavating the existing green, installing new sub-
surface drain lines, backfilling with sand, and re- planting the lawn area.
In addition, the irrigation system will be modified to provide more efficient
and reliable coverage.
Bids for the subject project are scheduled to be opened in the City Council
Chambers after 3:00 p.m., Monday, April 9, 1979, and read publicly by the
Assistant City Clerk.
Funds in the amount of $25,500 from Community Development Block Grant monies,
$14,500 from the Joslyn Foundation are available in W.O. 79146 -000.
Recommendation
It is recommended that the subject contract be awarded to the lowest qualified
bidder. Oral report on bidders to follow.
