SUBJECT: Recommendation to award bid for motor scooters.
Bid No. 1394.
Introduction
This report concerns award of bid, in the total amount of
$23,680.40, for five (5) parking enforcement and one (1) utility
type motor scooters. $20,426.20 will be charged to account
47- 300 - 300 - 000 -950, Police Department Capital Outlay, against a
budget amount of $21,750.00. $3,254.20 will be charged to account
47- 400 -511- 000 -950, Parks Division Capital Outlay, against a budget
amount of $4,522.00. All of the above prices include tax.
Background
In response to published Notice Inviting Bids, one (1) bid was
received and publicly opened and read in the office of the City
Manager August 17, 1978. Proposal forms were mailed to six (6)
potential suppliers and notices were advertised in accordance with
municipal code and city charter provisions. Cushman Motor Sales, Inc.,
submitted the sole bid:
One (1) Pick -up type motor scooter $3,070.00
Plus $184.20 tax ---------------------- $ 3,254.20
Five (5) Police -type motor scooters $3,845.00
Equals $19,270.00 plus $1,156.20 tax -- $20,426.20
Terms: Net
Recommendation
It is recommended that the award be made to Cushman Motor Sales, Inc.,
in the total amount of $23,680.40, including tax.
