This report concerns award of bid in the total amount of $2,924.79,
including applicable tax, for one (1) electric cargo carrier for use
on the Santa Monica Pier. Funds for this purchase are budgeted in
account number 10- 400 - 622 - 000 -950, Santa Monica Pier Capital Outlay.
Background
In reponse to published Notice Inviting Bids to furnish and deliver
a three - thousand (3,000) pound capacity electric vehicle in accordance
with city specifications, bids were received and publicly opened
and read in the office of the City Manager August 28, 1978. Proposal
packages were mailed to eighteen (18) potential suppliers and notices
were published in accordance with city charter and municipal code
provisions. Three (3) bids were received as listed on the attached
Summary. The Staff considers the listed options necessary for safe,
effective utilization
Recommendation
It is recommended that the award be made to Cushman Motor Sales, Inc.,
as the lowest and best bidder, in the total amount of $2,924.79,
including sales tax.
