SUBJECT: Resolution Implementing Premium Pay Increase for One- Person ;
Refuse Truck Drivers
Introduction
This report transmits a resolution amending the Memorandum of Understanding
with Teamster Local 911 and the City to increase pay for drivers assigned
to one - person refuse trucks.
Background
At its regular meeting of April 11, 1978, the City Council directed the
City Attorney to prepare a resolution to implement an amendment to the
existing Memorandum of Understanding between the City of Santa Monica and
California Teamsters Local 911 to increase the pay for drivers assigned
to one - person refuse trucks from the current 37z¢ per hour when so assigned
to 75¢ per hour. The resolution implementing this recommendation, as pre-
viously approved by Council, is attached for adoption.
Recommendation
It is recommended that the City Council adopt the attached resolution amending
Resolution #3750 -B increasing the premium pay for employees classified as
Sanitation Truck Drivers to 75¢ per hour for those hours when assigned to one -
person refuse vehicles effective March 1, 1978.
