Bid No, 1365.
Introduction
This report concerns award of bid to supply emulsified asphalt
as ordered by the City during the period July 1, 1978 through June
30, 1979. This award shall be subject to the availability of funds
in the budget approved for the impending fiscal year. The award,
in the estimated amount of $8,318.24, will be charged to account
44- 500 -421- 000 -414 (Street and Road Materials),
Background
In response to published Notice Inviting Bids to furnish approxi-
mately twenty -two thousand (22,000) gallons of SS1 -H asphalt emulsion
in lots as ordered, three (3) proposals were received and publicly
opened and read in the office of the City Manager May 9, 1978. Pro-
posal forms were mailed to eighteen (18) asphalt dealers and notices
were published in accordance with city charter and municipal code
provisions. Douglas Oil Company was the lowest bidder as indicated
on the attached summary of bids.
Recommendation
It is recommended that the award be made, subject to budget approval,
to Douglas Oil Company, as the lowest and best bidder, in the esti-
mated total amount of $8,318.24, including tax.
