SUBJECT: Recommendation to award bid for animal shelter exercise
enclosures. Bid No. 1398.
Introduction
This report concerns award of bid to construct dog and cat exercise
enclosures at the animal shelter in the total amount of $6,100.00,
including tax. $5,000.00 of this amount is available in account
01- 300 - 302 - 000 -920, Animal Control Structures and Improvements, and
the balance is available in a bequest from the estate of Louise
Townley restricted to animal shelter use,
Background
In response to published Notice Inviting Bids to construct the en-
closures in accordance with city plans and specifications, one (1)
bid was received and publicly opened and read in the office of the
City Manager May 30, 1978. Proposal forms were mailed to twenty -
one (21) contractors and notices were advertised in accordance with
city charter and municipal code provisions. Alcorn Fence Company
submitted a bid of $6,100.00.
Recommendation .
It is recommended that the award for construction of animal shelter
exercise enclosures be made to Alcorn Fence Company in the total
amount of $6,100.00, including tax.
