SUBJECT: Recommendation to award bid for Printing and Copier
Papers. Bid No. 1360.
Introduction
This report concerns award of bid, in the estimated amount of
$9,980.32, for printing and copier papers ordered by the City
during the period July 1, 1978 through June 30, 1979. Funds are
available in account 99- 950 - 030 - 000 -000, Central Warehouse Station-
ery account. Supplies are charged to the using departments when
issued.
Background
In response to published Notice Inviting Bids, proposals were re-
ceived and publicly opened and read in the office of the City Man-
ager May 11, 1978. Proposal forms were mailed to twenty -one (21)
potential suppliers and notices were advertised in accordance with
city charter and municipal code provisions. Four (4) qualified
proposal forms were received as listed on the attached summary of
bids. Wilson Paper Company was the lowest bidder for all items.
As a condition of the proposal sent to all vendors, prices quoted
shall be subject to adjustment January 1, 1979, based upon the per-
centage of increase of the Wholesale Price Index, Form Papers,
between April and November 1978.
Recommendation
It is recommended that the award be made to Wilson Paper Company,
as the lowest and best bidder in the estimated total amount of
$9,980.32, including tax.
