SUBJECT: Recommendation to Award Bid for Pier Parking Control
System. Bid No. 1344,
Introduction
This report concerns award of bid for a parking lot control system
to be installed on Santa Monica Pier in the total amount of $9,104,34,
including applicable tax. Funds are budgeted in account 30- 400 -532-
000 -322, Pier Building /Structure Maintenance, which totals $45,000,00,
Background
In response to published Notice Inviting Bids, proposals were received
and publicly opened and read in the office of the City Manager March
9, 1978. Proposal forms were mailed to seventeen (17) potential bid-
ders and notices were advertised in accordance with city charter and
municipal code provisions, Three (3) bids were received as listed on
the attached summary.
The recommended award calls for design and installation of a system
that will include entrance and exit control arms, ticket dispenser,
out clock for rate computation, cash register, fee indicator, manual
over -ride switches, and actuating loops,
Recommendation
It is recommended that the award by made to Cincinnati Time Equipment
Co,, Inc,, as the lowest and best bidder in the total amount of
$9,104,34, including tax,
