SUBJECT: Recommendation to accept bid for surplus aircraft equip-
ment. Bid No, 1347.
Introduction
This report concerns acceptance of a bid for one (1) used helicopter
engine and one (1) aircraft litter in the total amount of $2,329.50,
These items formerly were used in the police department helicopter
program.
Background
In response to published Notice Inviting Bids, proposals were re-
ceived and publicly opened and read in the office of the City Manager
March 21, 1978, Proposal forms were mailed to thirty (30) prosnective
bidders and notices were advertised in accordance with city charter
and municipal. code provisions. Two (2) bids were received. Roger
Rourke, an individual, bid $506,00 for the engine and submitted no
bid on the litter. Loomis Aircraft, Inc,, submitted a bid of
$2,275,50 for the engine and $54,00 for the litter, a total of
$2,329,50,
Recommendation
It is recommended that the bid of Loomis Aircraft, Inc,, be accepted,
as the highest and best bid, in the total amount of $2,329,50.
