On October 24, 1978 the City Council directed the Staff to implement a rental
housing information and mediation service, approved a professional services
contract, and set the salary of the program coordinator at $1,500 per month.
Dicriissinn
Following the passage of Proposition A on April 10, 1979, the job responsibil-
ity of the Coordinator has significantly increased. The Coordinator is now
responsible for supervision of a staff of five; serves as Secretary to the
Interim Rent Control Board; and is responsible for registration of approxi-
mately 36,000 housing units.
Recommendation
It is recommended that the City Council authorize the City Manager to execute
a contract amendment increasing the Coordinator's salary from $1,500 to $1,900
per month retroactive to April 10, 1979• Sufficient funds are available in
the Interim Rent Control Budget.
