Bid No. 1409.
Introduction
This report concerns acceptance of bid totalling $75,000.00 for a
parcel of City -owned real estate located at the southwest corner of
Neilson Way and Pacific Street. This land was originally aquired
for the creation of Neilson Way in 1954. A Plat of the property
is attached.
Background
In response to published Notice Inviting Bids for this property,
one (1) bid was received and publicly opened and read in the City
Council Chambers October 18, 1978. Proposals were distributed to
one hundred fifteen (115) prospective bidders and notices were
advertised in accordance with municipal code and city charter
provisions. The bid of $75,000.00 was made by Mr. George Anogianakis,
owner of the contiguous property. This bid for 4619.35 square feet
of land represents a price of $16.23 per square foot. Since this
property is of less than usual size, there are no comparable sales
in the private sector with which to compare.
Recommendation
It is recommended that the bid of Mr. George Anogianakis, in the
amount of $75,000.00 for the Neilson Way and Pacific Street property
be accepted.
