SUBJECT: Recommendation to award bid for computer cards and
paper. Bid No. 1375.
Introduction
This report concerns award of bid for computer cards and paper
in the total amount of $14,615.70, including applicable tax. This
award is to be charged to account 01 -100- 223 - 000 -411, Data Pro-
cessing Standard Forms, during fiscal year 1978 -79.
Background
In response to published Notice Inviting Bids to furnish and
deliver computer cards and paper in quantities as ordered, bids
were received and publicly opened and read in the office of the
City Manager May 25, 1978. Proposal forms were mailed to ten (10)
suppliers of these products and notices were advertised in accord-
ance with city charter and municipal code provisions. Three (3)
proposals were received as listed on the attached summary of bids.
In.the case of Item Two, it is considered that the difference of
$17.70 between the SCM- Walton bid and that of Moore Business Forms
does not justify the time and effort required to issue and administer
an additional purchase order.
Recommendation
It is recommended that the award be made to Moore Business Forms, Inc.,
for Items One and Two in the total amount of $4,806.04 and to Globe
Ticket Company for Items Three, Four and Five in the total amount of
$9,809.66.
