SUBJECT: Recommendation to award bid for tires and tubes.
Bid No. 1374.
Introduction
This report concerns award of bid to furnish and deliver tires and
tubes as ordered by the City during the fiscal year 1978 -79 in the
estimated amount of $33,572.15, including applicable tax. Purchases
will be charged initially to account 99- 955 -010- 000 -000, Warehouse
Revolving Account. Individual department operating accounts will
be charged as these products are issued.
Background
In response to published Notice Inviting Bids, proposals were received
and publicly opened and read in the office of the City Manager June
6, 1978. Proposal forms were mailed to twenty -four (24) tire com-
panies and notices were advertised in accordance with city charter
and municipal code provisions. Three (3) bids were received as
listed on the attached summary. In the case of Item 2, it is con-
sidered that the maximum difference between Goodrich and Sudduth
Company, $33.60, does not justify the time and expense entailed in
administering a single item order for a year.

It is recommended that the award be made to:
