SUBJECT: Recommendation to award bid for forklift truck.
Bid No. 1369.
Introduction
This report concerns award of bid to furnish and deliver one (1)
diesel - powered forklift truck in the amount of $17,656.42 including
applicable tax. This truck is budgeted at $17,800.00 in budget
account 987600 -651- 000 -231, Service Equipment, and is part of the
UMTA grant for bus fare boxes and related handling equipment.
Background
In response to published Notice Inviting Bids for a 5,000 pound
capacity forklift for the Transportation Department, proposals were
received and publicly opened and read in the office of the City
Manager May 9, 1978. Proposal forms were mailed to twenty -one (21)
equipment dealers and notices were advertised in accordance with
city charter and municipal code provisions. Three (3) proposals
were received which offered equipment meeting the published specifi-
cations. Bids were submitted by:
